    Peter R. Matt was appointed President and CEO of Commercial Metals Company in September 2023, succeeding Barbara R. Smith who served as CEO from 2017. He previously served as President beginning in April 2023 and has been a board member since June 2020. Before joining CMC, Matt served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Constellium SE, a global aluminum fabrication company. From 2015 to 2016, he was a managing partner for Tumpline Capital LLC. From 1985 to 2015, he held various leadership positions with Credit Suisse. Matt holds a Bachelor's degree from Amherst College and brings extensive financial, strategic and executive leadership experience to the role.
