Clay C. Williams

Clay Williams has been the Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer of NOV Inc. since 2014. Over his decade-long tenure, Williams guided the oilfield equipment giant through volatile industry cycles and a sweeping internal transformation. He steered NOV during the downturns of 2015–16 and 2020, implementing cost reductions and refocusing the business on innovation. Under his leadership, NOV continued its 150+ year legacy of pioneering energy technology—from advanced drilling rigs and top drives to wellbore tools and digital solutions—enabling customers to produce energy more safely and efficiently.
