Anders Opedal

Anders Opedal is President and Chief Executive Officer of Equinor ASA, Norway's largest energy company and one of the world's leading offshore oil and gas operators. He joined Statoil (now Equinor) in 1997 and progressed through engineering and leadership roles across drilling, operations, and project development before becoming CEO in November 2020. Under his leadership, Equinor has pursued a dual strategy of optimizing its Norwegian Continental Shelf portfolio while accelerating investments in offshore wind and renewable energy. Opedal has positioned Equinor as a leader in the energy transition while maintaining strong returns from traditional oil and gas operations. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Norwegian Institute of Technology.
